Aimee: Worthwhile, and he’s going to be in Brisbane next month, but on a weekday I think.

Deb: I knew Neil would be giving a public talk at the convention centre, but wasn’t aware (or hadn’t twigged) to the fact that there was a convention, it was CBCA and Shaun Tan would also be there. I am not particularly quick on the uptake:)

It’s like being there vicariously, and it lends a whole new meaning to the authors’ works and how I read them. Especially illuminating were the theories behind Shaun Tan’s books. Sounds like a speech I’d have paid to hear too.
