This Dalek is a day late due to very indifferent speed of internet at my parent’s house.
This instalment of the Dalek Game is a continuation of the earlier textile theme. It is for Astrid Lindgren’s prodigy, the piratical, horse-carrying, alternatively domestic Pippi Longstocking, and particularly for Louis S Glanzman’s illustrations (not the originals, but the illustrations in my copy), in which Pippi appears as a sort of monstrous devil-child beside Tommy and Annika’s Little Golden Book characters.
My favourite part is still when Pippi decides to scrub the kitchen floor by using scrubbing brushes like ice-skates (Pippi’s brand of housekeeping reminds me very much of Johnny Depp’s in Benny and Joon).

I think I *am* someone who would wear those stockings… Also, now I want to see Johnny Depp clean house with brushes on his feet. That was my favourite bit too.

I hadn’t made the connection between their housekeeping styles until I wrote this.

I find the fabric Dalek representations just as charming as if Pippi had turned into a Dalek!
