Illustration Friday: Craving

I have a special dietary restriction when I travel. It is: I can eat anything I want as long as it isn’t something I would ordinarily eat at home.

These are some of the things I ate in Adelaide over the weekend (originally from my Adelaide sketchbook, posted here: Natcon Sketchbook):

From top to bottom:

  • TARDIS cookie
  • Frog cake
  • Haigh’s violet cream chocolate

  1. I second the motion (or is it notion in this case?) of eating something you would not normally get at home when traveling. When in Boston, one should get seafood, etc. In Toronto, for some reason, my wife and I have developed this tradition that whenever we are there we always have some “digestive biscuits”. And preferably the ones that have a chocolate side!

    • motion to, notion of?
I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a digestive biscuit – the name was a bit offputting. If I’m ever in Toronto…

      • I do understand the name “digestive biscuit” being offputting. Had it not been for the picture of the cookie on the tin or carton, I’d have never tried them.

This is the brand we’ve seen:
        McVities
Of course, they can now be found on places such as Amazon.com and other online retailers, and I understand they sell a lot of them in Japan!
