It’s still ten minutes to midnight! Just scraping in under the wire with a very quick pen, brush and ink sketch with colour added in Photoshop.
I was out at the movies with Ngaire, and then we had coffee (and a brownie with cream and chocolate sauce). I reached home a little before 11, picked some sprigs before I came in, dug out assorted pens, tied the twigs to them and set to. It was going to be all drawn with a dip pen but the nibs were giving me trouble, so this is a combination of dip pen, brush and felt-tipped calligraphy pen, with colour added after scanning.
ETA: The picture for “perspective” is now up as well: https://tanaudel.wordpress.com/2010/03/02/illustration-friday-perspective/
And very nice it is too!
Thanks, conniemartin!
I like your concept.
Thanks!
I really LOVE this illustration! I am a big fan of bright colors, and these just make my heart sing. I like the idea, the linework, its SO nice!
I am glad, Jen! I’m often cautious about using bright colours and haste made me do it – maybe I should wait until the last minute more often!
Wasn’t this last week’s topic? This week is ‘perspective’.
Yes, but I posted it at ten minutes before midnight, while it was still this week – the topic must have changed on the site as I got there.
oh what a fun piece!!!
Thanks, Diana!
Lovely!
:) Thanks
Wonderful color.
Thanks, crisitunity!
This turned out most beautifully. Love the lines, textures and colors.
I love the mix of pen/ink! Colors are lovely!
I might have to try your pen trick. Very expressive. Lovely!
trust the process of art and yourself, this picture is quirky, i love the idea of growth on your pens. we can all do with fertilising our creative tools somehow.
maybe i need to try the brownie and sauce, yes im sure that will inspire me to do a gorgeous art piece as you have done.
thanx for the inspiration.
