Illustration Friday: Round

Illustration Friday: Round

Two versions of a scene – of going around mulberry bushes, and through doors in hedges, of woods between worlds, worlds beneath hills and ways between. It is dip pen and ink, with flat digital colour and texture. This is a quick experiment with my new computer – it isn’t recognising stylus pressure on the drawing tablet yet, but everything else seems to be working as it should (hurrah!).

In other news: I made it to the word count for NaNoWriMo, but still have some story left to go. This year, I finish! Much of it is about ways through, and paths between, so although this scene isn’t strictly from the tale, the two girls above are my Marion and Ann.

  1. I absolutely ADORE both these pictures. They say EVERYTHING about why I must write speculative fiction. I think I will put them up as wallpaper to remind me to keep going on days that I don’t know why I haven’t given up yet.

*Complete yearning to go into your pictures like the chalk pictures in Mary Poppins!*
